The Old Tamensians’ Association

The hopefully not so Old Tamensians’ Association (although we'll be 100 years old in 2009) is for all former staff and students of Lord Williams's School (and Lord Williams's Grammar School as it was before 1971, and Thame Grammar before that). Our role is to help everyone keep in touch, organize events, and provide news on developments and changes taking place at Lord Williams’s School.

How to join …

We try and encourage new members to make a contribution to the OTA in order to help with the running of the association. So, if you are able to spare £10 this will give you a 'Life' subscription, we think this is pretty good value! Please read our data protection & privacy policy. This can be found on the reverse of this sheet. Once you are a signed up member you will receive the monthly Newsletter, a free badge and invitations to events and reunions.

We were in existence long before Friends Reunited or myspace. We're better value and we'll always be here, so please fill in the table below and either e-mail it to the Membership Secretary or post it us at the address below. By joining the OTA you can be guaranteed of staying in touch for life!

1998 Data Protection Act: Data is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and is only used for creating links between the School, OTA Clubs and Societies, and fellow OTs

By joining the OTA you agree to the Association holding a limited amount of data about you which may include names, address and contact details, and years at the School.

Data may only be used for a range of alumni activities, including mailing, promotion of events, services, benefits and fundraising. Under the terms of the 1998 Data Protection Act, you have the right to object to the use of your data for any of these purposes.

Information gathered by the OTA is kept on a database, which can be accessed only by the OTA and authorised committee members. Data is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and is used only for creating closer links between the School, OTA Clubs & Societies, and fellow OTs, some of whom may reside outside of the European Union. We will not publish your details without your consent but please note that you should tell us if you object to us doing this, nor do we sell our data to third parties for commercial purposes. From time to time, we may pass on your contact details to other OTs for the purpose of legitimate contact (see below).

To comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, you should request such a list in writing to the OTA. We simply need your full name, address, year of entry as well as a reason for requesting the list (e.g. to organise an event or because you are visiting, or moving to, a particular area and would like to see whether there are any local OTs to visit).

If we send you a list, you must agree to use it for that purpose only and to strictly maintain the confidential nature of the information.

Can you put me in touch with someone in another profession whom I can talk to about their career?

Whilst we will not give out OT addresses or do any specific mailings to OTs for advertising purposes, we can publicise your business and website free of charge on the website and within our newsletter mailings.
